Structural design
Reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, timber and bridges, based on NSR-10.
Scope. Design of new structures in the building systems commonly used in Colombia: reinforced concrete frames and walls, structural steel, confined and reinforced masonry, timber and guadua bamboo, and vehicular and pedestrian bridges.
Design method. The design starts from the seismic analysis of the complete system under NSR-10 Title A and goes down to the detailing of each member. Bridges are designed under CCP-14. In irregular structures or where soil-structure interaction is significant, the analysis is complemented with models developed at DIADICA Synthetic Core.
Review. Concrete designs are audited against ACI 318, steel designs against AISC 360 and 341, and bridges against the AASHTO LRFD specifications.
Deliverables. Calculation report with the assumptions, the governing load combinations and the check of each member, and structural drawings for construction and for permit submission.

Structural design in one minute

Bridges and road works in one minute
The CCP-14 design truck and tandem cross a 30 m span to build the moment envelope with impact and lane load; the moment is shared among four girders with the code's distribution factors; the abutment is checked for Mononobe-Okabe seismic thrust; and a box culvert is solved as a closed frame with the live load spread through its fill.
